A day of fun and generosity

For the first time since lockdown and the second time with SHOM, on a beautiful Sunday afternoon, Fausto Preysler and Ane opened their magnificent beach house in Punta Fuego to their friends and to SHOM members for a great lunch and an afternoon of friendship. Beside the festive aspect of the gathering, we all came from Manila to support Kalipay Foundation https://kalipay.org/ and her founder and president Anna Balcells and her team.

Felix and Grace Ang invited all ambassadors and spouses available to sail to the place on their stunning yacht. This was pretty amazing. A 3.5 hours cruise in the best conditions you can imagine along the coast of Luzon down to Punta Fuego.

Ambassadors brought special and unique items from their countries to auction off and to the direct benefit of Kalipay Foundation. Raffles Makati hotel in Manila and Antonio’s restaurant in Tagatay offered vouchers for bedrooms and dinners. Artists brought some of their treasured paintings for the auction.

The whole afternoon was a lot of fun especially when some unique items everybody wanted to buy, like silk scarves from Turkiye, or Maroccan carved wood tray, or American and Norwegian Christmas ornaments, organic Tunisian olive oil, and very special beverages from Brazil, Norway, Germany, France, Ireland, New Zeland, Romania, Finland… Even a painting by one of the Ambassadors herself, which fetched a large contribution. Everybody was eager and happy to contribute to the Kalipay Foundation.

Thanks to the generosity of the invited guests who both donated the precious items for auction and more importantly those who participated in the buying, the event raised over 600,000 PHP which in its entirety is donated to Kalipay Foundation.
