Each of our members typically has one or more charitable organizations that they support on regular basis. We, as SHOM, also support a number of charities with the profits from the International Bazaar and other events.
If you’re representing a charity we could help. Please fill in the funding application here.
We have two fundraising events this fall – “Diplomats with a Cause” – A gala and fashion show on October 8, 2024 and the 2024 International Bazaar on November 3, 2024.
SHOM will accept proposals for funding in two phases. The first phase has a deadline for submission of October 25, 2024 with distribution of funds to be made prior to December 1, 2024. The second phase has a deadline for submission of January 31, 2025 with distribution planned for the late spring of 2025.
- Please note that only proposals submitted by the deadlines will be considered. Proposals submitted by the October 25 deadline will automatically be considered for support from both events
- The standard form (link above) must be complete to be considered for funding
- All potential recipients must be registered organizations and must provide detailed information regarding their proposed use of the funds
- Priority will be given to those who propose tangible projects with clearly defined and measurable outcomes rather than a portion of their operating costs
- Projects with a longer term sustainability component rather than disaster response or emergency relief are preferred
- SHOM typically supports projects under 400,000 php
- If your organization is chosen for funding you will be required to submit a written report at the conclusion of the project including photographs
- SHOM will visit each beneficiary on a best efforts basis to observe the organization and the implementation of the project/funding
